The District 6440 Nominating Committee has selected Mary Bak to be District Governor for the 2023-2024 Rotary year.  A member of the Rotary Club of Glenview Sunrise, she currently serves the District as Grants Committee Chair.  Mary is a past District Secretary, Assistant Governor, and Club President, has been a member of the District Visioning Team, and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
 
The Nominating Committee also selected PDG Julie Clark of the Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates to be Vice-Governor for the 2021-2022 Rotary year.

Mary Bak has been an active member of the Rotary Club of  Glenview Sunrise since 1991.  She currently serves her Club as the Chair of its major fundraiser, the annual Hero Hustle.  
 
Mary received her B.A. degree from Loyola University, Chicago, and her J.D. from DePaul University.  She retired from the Village of Glenview in December 2013 as Director of Community Development/Special Counsel. Significant projects in Glenview during her 28-year tenure include the planning and oversight of the redevelopment of the former Glenview Naval Air Station (The Glen), oversight of two Comprehensive Plans and multiple Corridor studies and downtown planning efforts, and the re-codification of the Municipal Code.
 
She is currently engaged in a consulting role as Development Services Manager for Kinzie Real Estate Services. She focuses on pre-development work on suburban infill projects, and the re-entitlement of distressed real estate projects to bring them back to market. 

Mary also served as President of the Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, a land economics society, and as a director of the Illinois Local Government Lawyers Association.  
 
Mary and Bob live in Glenview where she has been deeply involved in volunteer work at St. Catherine Laboure Church and School.  They have three children and two grandchildren.  
 
Julie Clark was District Governor in 2018-19.  She joined the Rotary Club of Schaumburg-Hoffman Estates in 2003.  She currently serves as an Assistant Rotary Coordinator for Zone 29, as the Vice-Chair of Training for Midwest PETS, and leads the Public Relations efforts of the HealthRays initiative. 
 
Julie and John are Major Donors and Members of the Bequest Society and the Paul Harris Society of The Rotary Foundation.  They are the proud grandparents of two.
