Rotary District 6440 International Service

International Service

International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more. Rotary International encourages Rotary clubs to develop projects that address priority needs identified by the communities they serve, to help people help themselves, and to ensure projects are sustainable. Learn more about the Global Grant Process at the "TRF Guide to Global Grants" on the left column.

The Clubs in Rotary District 6440 are actively involved in this avenue of service and many of the projects coordinated by a club or a group of clubs are open to other Clubs and Rotarians in the District to participate in, either in a hands-on fashion or through financial support, or a combination of both.

HOW CAN YOUR CLUB GET INVOLVED?

1. The TRF Programs of Scale are $2M Grants that support longer term, high impact programs. District 6440 is partnering with District 9213 in Uganda to apply for a Program of Scale that will improve maternal and child health-we are looking for support from our clubs-see information on the left column, or contact Steve Jambor of the Rotary Club of Wilmette for more information.

2. Do you want to find out about projects in our District? Do you have some DDF that you would like to use, but are not sure how? Check the links on the left column, Available Global Grants in District 6440, or Matching Grants.org. if you are looking for clubs searching for either hands on volunteers or financial partners, or simply want to see what other clubs are doing in this area of service.

3. District 6440 maintains an up to date list of available DDF in the District. Check the current status of DDF here. This information is updated monthly as the Grants committee approves requests from clubs for DDF.

4. The International Service Committee meets monthly via Zoom, where clubs share information about planned global grant projects and service trips.Whether a Rotarian is looking for ideas on possible projects or is looking for projects that are looking for partnerships, the information is out there! There are many clubs and individuals willing to help you develop a project. Contact Robert Steinberg about upcoming meetings.
