Rotary District 6440 International Service

International Service

International Service exemplifies our global reach in promoting peace and understanding. We support this service avenue by sponsoring or volunteering on international projects, seeking partners abroad, and more.

International Service offers Rotarians an opportunity for international fellowship with an important difference– humanitarianism.

There is no one-way to carry out an International Service project. When it comes to implementing a project, creativity and imagination are the keys to success. Projects may be as diverse as the construction of a public restroom facility where none were available prior to building an aquaponics system at a school in the jungles of Guatemala or providing water wells in remote areas of Uganda that serve 15,000 inhabitants.

Rotary International encourages Rotary clubs to develop projects that address priority needs identified by the communities they serve, to help people help themselves, and to ensure projects are environmentally sustainable.

The Clubs in Rotary District 6440 are actively involved in this avenue of service and many of the projects coordinated by a club or a group of clubs are open to other Clubs and Rotarians in the District to participate in, either in a hands-on fashion or through financial support, or a combination of both.

Whether a Rotarian is looking for ideas on possible projects or is looking for projects that are looking for partnerships, the information is out there!

The links will give you access to information on completed service projects as well as service projects that are being planned.

If you are looking for ideas on projects, with summary information regarding projects, cost, time involved etc, go to the completed project tab. If you are looking for clubs searching for either hands on volunteers or financial partners, or simply want to see what other clubs are doing in this area of service, go to the current or pending project tab.
Is your club looking for DDF (District Designated Funds) for a Global Grant? Check the current status of DDF here. This information is updated monthly as the Grants committee approves requests from clubs for DDF.
